Kindergarten: Shapes


Kindergarten examined a work of art by Kandinsky to search for and identify shapes. Now they are brushing a glue + water mixture to collage tissue paper shapes into an abstract composition. The bleeding tissue adds an element of exploration and excitement as colors spread and mix.

Third Grade: Forms

Third grade students first practiced controlling the pressure of their pencil to draw and shade forms. They are now putting the finishing touches on their imaginary 3-d cities. Using color pencils the students ave learned to blend colors and change pressure to create tints and shades. They are now aware of how shadows are not really black but a darker shade of the color of the surface.
